2006 Hyundai Getz / Hyundai Click
The Hyundai Getz (or Hyundai Click as it is known in some markets) has been the most popular car in the Hyundai stables to date, knocking off the Hyundai Elantra from that throne last year. Worldwide Hyundai Getz sales have touched 194,489 units so far.

Hyundai unveiled a refreshed version of the Hyundai Getz at the 2006 Frankfurt Motor Show.
The new Getz brings exterior updates such as new headlamps, new rear lamps and redesigned bumpers to bring a more youthful appeal to the Getz.
Under the hood, the 1.3 Hyundai Getz has been replaced with a 1.4 model. This 1.4 engine makes 95ps at 6000rpm, 11.7 percent more power than it’s 1.3 predecessor. The 1.6 model gets a new block making 106ps at 5800rpm. Fuel efficiency is at 13 km per liter, which is actually higher than the 11.9km per liter of previous 1.5 model available in some markets.
There is also a 1.5 turbodiesel model that comes with a Variable Geometry Turbocharger that meks 110ps and 24kg.m of torque. But I’ll doubt we’ll ever see that in the local market.
The new 2006 Hyundai Getz also now comes with ESP Stability control, a feature missing from the previous version. If Kah Bintang ever brings this in, I am not sure if we will get the ESP program as we always somehow get the baseline models.

we always get the baseline models. yes, you’re right paul. unless we earn a king’s ransom and pay through our noses for imported luxury cars, majority of the middle class Malaysians will never get to feel what it’s like to drive a car with ABS, ESP, EBD, DSC etc built into it…or even the quality of the quieter ride that superior cars provide.
Anyways, prospective buyers already know that Proton’s are still outfitted with outdated engines which are junkyard worthy at best…so protection or not, the government will soon have to abolish the protection for the local car manufacturer and start hurling it out there along with the big guns. Proton should take a leaf out of Perodua’s book, and be innovative. Maintaining the chassis shouldn’t dent revenue much, but introducing a new, more fuel efficient and powerful engine will definitely woo buyers.

agree with alansm.
may be we can feel those ABS, ESP, EBD, DSC buit into one car if without PROTON. but well, now we have PROTON here, so other than bashing it even the post not directly connect to it, we can only pray that PROTON someday can wake up from their dreams, and start to product better quality+design’s car… we c lo…
we are malaysian… who want to blame our own product/children if it really have good quality?

Its only a shame that they won’t be calling it a ‘Click’ in the UK as it retains the rather bemusing name od ‘Getz’.

Hey guys, I’m not a Malaysian. But Sometimes I actually envy Malyasian or to be specific middle class Malaysian being able to drive a cheaper car cuz it’s produced locally.
Think about it… if there’s no Proton, true there’ll be lots of imported cars and grogious rides around. But my question is how much will it be costing then. Goverment obviously will improvise the tax scheme, so an imported baseline car might already be costing a bomb then.
