Kia unveils Kia Picanto Facelift

Kia has given their Kia Picanto A-segment product a mid-life facelift in efforts to keep it fresh until the next generation Picanto is released. The new facelifted Kia Picanto takes on many design cues from the new Kia Cee’d range of cars on both the inside and outside. The new Kia front look combined with the Picanto’s height makes it look like a miniature Kia Rondo now. The new facelifted Picanto is 40 mm longer, with an overall length of 3535 mm, featuring an extended, rounded nose and deeper, larger rear bumper. Wheel design seems to have been ripped off from the Alfa Romeo dial design or the Golf GTI’s design, something that Proton recently abandoned with the new slightly updated Proton GEN2 sold in the UK.
Now that the Kia Picanto has been facelifted, will we be able to get this new facelift here, or will we have to make due with a slightly aftermarketish-look-modified Kia Picanto badged as the Naza Suria?

i dont think dat it will be that quick to be in malaysia……the naza suia is jus been launched recenly…like 1 years….
May 25, 2007 @ 3:20 pm
and the suria is not selling well…..as it is highly priced w/o a/bags
May 25, 2007 @ 3:27 pm
now the discounted price is quite ok but i still dont like the current looks. the facelift is something i’d consider. hopefully they install a temp gauge in it. the current suria/picanto doesn’t have one and i feel terribly anxious never knowing the temperature status of the car. my tiara also didn’t have a temp gauge and it was dumb to just hv to stop when the overheating light came on. at least with a gauge, one can estimate where and when to stop before things boil over.

strangely enough, some new cars on the market today have no temp gauge, even cars costing 2 times more than this picanto..

Nice but overprice
May 25, 2007 @ 4:05 pm

Like a bmw.

the front look like atos…still the same engine?

If the Picanto’s interior is as good as the one from the Cee’d as mentioned above, it would be a real great buy.
According to Tom Ford on the recent episode of Fifth Gear in which he used the Cee’d as a papparazi’s celebrity stalking car, the interior has been upped several nothces in terms of quality, materials and looks making it looks much classier.
The interior looks nearly the same as te Cee’d and should be at least on par with the Cee’ds quality engineering. Just hope they would revise the engine though.

So fast to having the face lift ??????
Feel / hope that Naza will not too soon to bring this version in m’sia since i bought Kia Picanto 1.5 years ago niah…
Assembly Naza Suria already make my car price drop.. if having this new version… then my car value will be damn poor……..

The front headlamps and orangy colour reminds me of the current Kancil. It looks weird as it uses elements from its bigger models into this small car. The rear looks like a Spark/Mantiz.
THis is just KIA’s temporary work to boost some sales before the new Hyundai/Kia small compact replacement is launched next year.

looks ugly than before…
