We’ve had an idea of how the next-gen Aveo will look like, thanks to the Chevrolet Aveo RS show car that graced Detroit 2010. Subsequently, we also saw leaked illustrations of the Aveo Sedan and its funky looking cabin. Now, these patent filings confirm the shape of the hatchback and sedan variants of the 2012 Aveo.
Chevrolet’s B-segment global car uses the same design language as the Cruze but is recognisable as an Aveo, particularly the hatchback, which has door handles hidden in the C-pillars (neat) and long front overhangs (not so neat). The latter is probably to meet pedestrian crash regulations. The front design is dominated by a large radiator grille split into two and prominent double headlamps on each side.
No word on its official unveiling, but we won’t be surprised to see the new Aveo at the Paris Motor Show this September. See the patent filings after the jump.

Mmmm……… hidden door handle in C-pillar, long front overhangs……. sounds very ‘alfa’ to me….. might even get selespeed when spec is anounced later.. lol
Nice job. Greater torque please! B-)
Look like it taking Mitsubishi’s and volvo’s signature design cues.
look like volvo to me!!
i like the front design, the headlamp and the grill
but the rear design is not impressive
hopefully this aveo will be available in msia in the price range of rm70K-RM80K
sorry…if i’m not mistaken
i dont think it’s refer to patent
but it’s refer to industrial design
It can also be called as patent as it’s part design…
