The wraps are set to fly off the handsome Mercedes-Benz GLA Concept this weekend in Shanghai. Quite obviously, it previews the production GLA-Class, spyshots of which you’ve seen (specifically the hot 45 AMG variant). The production car will reportedly show up at the Frankfurt show in September.
The A-Class-based GLA Concept is endowed with Merc’s current family face. Interesting elements include twin tailpipes, bumper protection plates and 20-inch alloys encased in 255/45 series tyres. Reports say the GLA you can eventually buy will ride a bit higher than this.
Dimensions are thus: 4.38 metres long, 1.97 metres wide and 1.57 metres tall, while wheelbase falls a smidgen short of 2.7 metres. Its 211 hp turbocharged 2.0 litre four-cylinder petrol engine is mated to a seven-speed twin-clutch ‘box and 4MATIC system.
The GLA 45 AMG, however, is speculated to get its 360 hp and 450 Nm of torque from a turbocharged 2.0 litre engine that’s paired with AMG’s twin-clutch six-speeder and 4MATIC.
