The upcoming 2016 Audi TT RS has been sighted again. Thanks to Instagram user worldsuupercars, we now have a clear look at the all-new flagship TT as it pulls over at a petrol station in Granada, Spain to fuel up.
Unlike our earlier spyshots that showed a camouflaged test mule making its rounds, the car spotted here does appear to be the production car. Visually, the TT RS packs a meaner punch when compared to the standard car.
At the front, the car gains a more aggressive bumper with larger intakes, a revised lower lip with vertical slates and plenty of silver accents. An obligatory ‘TT RS’ badge can be found on the grille, along with ‘quattro’ branding at the bottom. The familiar design shares much in common with the Audi TT quattro sport concept from 2014.
Along the sides, the TT RS gains seven-spoke alloy wheels. No shots of the car’s rear, but expect oval-shaped exhaust pipes, a trademark of RS models, and a more prominent diffuser to be part of the exterior package.
No word on performance figures, but the current TTS has 310 hp/380 Nm. Word is the TT RS might gain a 2.5 litre TFSI from the RS3 Sportback (367 PS/465 Nm), the 2.0 turbo of the Volkswagen Golf R 400 concept (400 PS/450 Nm), or even a heavily tuned version of the TT’s 2.0 TFSI engine. Transmission options should include a manual gearbox (based on earlier spyshots) or S tronic dual-clutch unit, with quattro AWD.
