Mercedes-Benz Accessories has introduced a range of new light-alloy wheels as part of its 2016 Summer Collection. According to the company, the new wheels “enhance the appearance of any vehicle while lending an added touch of sportiness and elegance.”
The A-, B-, CLA-, C-, E-, GLC-, GLE-, SL-, SLC-, V- and S-Class Coupe are the listed recipients of the new wheels. Depending on the Mercedes-Benz model, the wheels come in sizes of up to 21 inches, as well as a variety of designs.
Aside from a high-sheen finish, certain wheels also feature a contrasting finish with a “bare metal” surface and painted areas. Other design trends include additional fine spokes that are painted in a different colour to the main spokes to introduce a bit of distinction.
Mercedes adds that the wheels are precisely configured for the vehicle models, and are required to pass various endurance tests. This include tests that simulate the loads encountered in traffic situations, as well as material tests using X-ray equipment. High-sheen wheels are also subjected to additional tests such as a highly-corrosive salt water spray or a 28-day climate cycle.
