With a role in the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming, the new 2018 D5 Audi A8 made an appearance at the premiere of the new Spidey film, albeit with some Spidey-themed camo stuck to it.
The German carmaker has released plenty of information about its flagship sedan previously, showcasing the car’s active suspension system, Audi AI autonomous driving system, 48-volt main electrical system and multi-material Audi Space Frame.
For the premiere however, the A8 is tasked with ferrying the movie’s main star, Tom Holland (Peter Parker/Spider-Man), while co-star Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark/Iron Man) gets a “lowly” R8 Spyder instead.
Despite the wrapping on the car, we still get to see the latest interpretation of the Singleframe grille and what should be Matrix LED headlights. Further down, we see what appears to be one of the numerous sensors that supports the car’s Audi AI system.
Audi hasn’t revealed exactly what engines will be made available for the A8, but it is clear the brand’s proprietary four-wheel drive system ‘quattro’ is available, which isn’t much of a surprise. Not too long to go before Audi pulls the wraps off of the new A8 at the Audi Summit on July 11 in Barcelona.
