Porsche Passport subscription programme launched in the US – on-demand access to 22 different models

In today’s world, most people would prefer to have a Spotify subscription rather than purchasing several dozen albums, as this will allow them to be more flexible with their music consumption. Porsche is taking that approach with its cars as well, which is why it has launched Porsche Passport, a new sports car and SUV subscription programme, in the United States.

The month-to-month subscription programme will be introduced in Atlanta, Georgia, and offers its members frequent vehicle exchanges, unrestricted mileage, and on-demand access for up to 22 different Porsche models.

“Our Strategy 2025 vision is to be the most aspirational brand in a new era of mobility and consumer expectations. Catering to customers’ desire to experience our sports cars in new ways is a part of our core strategy. With Porsche Passport, we now offer our customers a simple and flexible driving solution at their fingertips,” said Klaus Zellmer president and CEO of Porsche Cars North America.

However, not anyone can be a part of the programme because membership approval is dependent on a background and credit check. To apply, you’ll have to download the Porsche Passport app available on Apple and Android devices and go through the application process.

Once approved, members will need to pay a one-time activation fee of US$500 as well as a monthly fee. The latter covers vehicle tax and registration, insurance, maintenance, and detailing. Next, members will now choose from one of two membership plans – Launch and Accelerate.

The first will cost US$2,000 a month and the other is US$3,000 a month, with cheaper of the two provides access to eight model variants such as the 718 Boxster and Cayman S, as well as the Macan S and Cayenne.

Meanwhile, the Accelerate plan widens the range to 22 model variants such as the 911 Carrera S, the Panamera 4S, the Macan GTS and Cayenne S E-Hybrid. All cars from the Launch plan are also available with the Accelerate plan as well.

Set to go live beginning November this year, members can choose to have their selected car be delivered or picked up in person, with same-day pick-ups or future bookings being made through the app.
