Mercedes-AMG performance is now being offered at more affordable prices, as Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has launched locally-assembled (CKD) versions of the C 43 Sedan as well as the GLC 43 SUV. Both models were first introduced in fully-imported (CBU) form in May last year.
Let’s get to the best bit first, the price. We’ll start with the C 43 Sedan, which in CKD guise, is priced at RM408,888 on-the-road without insurance – it is RM91,000 less than the CBU version. As for the GLC 43, the high-performance SUV was priced at RM538,888 as a CBU unit, but is now just RM468,888, or RM70,000 less, as a CKD model. Prices are inclusive of a four-year, unlimited-mileage warranty.
In terms of specifications, both cars are identical to the CBU models. Both are powered by the same M276 DELA 30 3.0 litre twin-turbo V6 with 362 hp (367 PS) and 520 Nm of torque. Power is directed to the wheels via a nine-speed 9G-Tronic automatic transmission as well as the automaker’s 4Matic all-wheel drive system. The latter is a rear-biased system that distributes torque according to a 31:69 front-to-rear split.
Performance-wise, the C 43 Sedan will sprint from zero to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, while the GLC 43 takes 4.9 seconds to do the same. Both cars top out at an electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h.
On the handling side of things, the C 43 retains the CBU’s AMG Ride Control adaptive damper, with Comfort, Sport and Sport Plus settings. These correspond with the AMG Dynamic Select system, which itself has Eco, Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual drive modes that also adjusts engine, transmission and steering response.
As for the GLC 43, it continues with an AMG sports suspension based on the Air Body Control system. This is backed by ADS Plus adaptive damping, which offers Comfort, Sport and Sport plus damping modes. The AMG Dynamic Select system is also present here.
The exterior kit list appears to be unchanged despite the lower prices, as both cars still come with an AMG Line styling package, Night Package and LED Intelligent Light headlamps. Model-specific items on the C 43 Sedan include 19-inch AMG two-tone five-twin-spoke alloy wheels and a front spoiler lip.
The GLC 43 meanwhile, gets 21-inch AMG two-tone five-twin-spoke wheels instead, along with black roof rails, exterior chrome package and aluminium-look running boards with rubber studs on the sides.
As for the interior, black Artico man-made leather/Dinamice microfibre upholstery can be found in both vehicles along with piano black and aluminium trim, designo red seat belts, powered front seats with memory function, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting and AMG floor mats.
Other items include a Thermotronic dual-zone climate control system, 360-degree camera, Parking Pilot, COMAND Online, an 8.4-inch infotainment display, 13-speaker Burmester sound system, Keyless Go with push start, Pre-Safe (includes autonomous emergency braking), seven airbags and a flat-bottomed sports steering wheel.
As mentioned at the start, the C 43 Sedan goes for RM408,888, while the GLC 43 is priced at RM468,888. Buyers can opt in to the Performance Agility Care package, where they will enjoy the benefits of Agility Financing and scheduled vehicle maintenance. As an example, the C 43 Sedan can be had with a monthly installment of RM4,088 over three years, inclusive of all service charges. Interested?

Although prices have gone down, Malaysia has still the highest car prices in the world in comparison with our low pay packet. Hopefully prices will go down somemore
Dismal public productivity & over reliance on foreign labours depressed our low pay packet.
Too generous discount. Mercedes-Benz Malaysia shud up car prices to reduce biz losses.
This is not discount. They CKD it and channel the cost cut to customer. Profit margin is the same.
The CBU buyer have to cry like a baby now.
So, what is the difference(s) between CBU and CKD? :S
The prices. Specs are identical ;)
topKEK! cheap Bait spotted..ooo waiii!
I just remember, the different between CBU and CKD mainly on the material e.g. surrounding mirrors. CBU usually got Shatterpruffe or Armourplate brand whereas CKD got St. Gobain. St. Gobain glass is famous for easily to get dirty. With Rain-X, Shatterpruffe or Armourplate could stand a couple of months before having to re-apply Rain-X. St. Gobain just weeks. Sounds familiar with St. Gobain? Proton use it.
(Like) Benz GLC 43.
(Dislike) Range Rover Velar
glc43 is cheaper than 4 cylinder evoque or macan. if you prize velocity over brand image then this is for you.
Wonderful… Sizeable price reduction.. Coupled with good ckd build quality control by mercedes Malaysia… Unlike another competing German brand sold here, it’s range of ckd vehicle build quality is utterly dismal… Somehow mismatched panel gaps is acceptable to their management, don’t take my word for it, head out to their glenmarie showroom and check their range of ckd full size plug in hybrid model.. Absolutely shameful..
the other competing German brand sold here led by sime darby and another competing German brand led by drb.. Utterly shameful..
Shamefully utter
Goreng Pisang or Pisang Goreng. They are both fried banana. Sime Darby & DRB are both GLC. That is his gist/point.
how about the c43 facelift?
This is a very good buy for an excellent car!!!
Now everyone can own an AMG….well nearly everyone. Gone are the days where an AMG would mean forking out well over 500k to own one. I’d take a C43 over the E250 anytime.
Good for you. Most buyers of E250 are usually older hence comfort is of paramount. In case U forget, there is an AMG for the E250 too.
Yeah, it’s called the E63 S AMG
e43 amg with 400bhp is already selling in malaysia (yes i know its not a “true” amg)
Don’t buy it, its unbelievably expensive. Its like a 35 year loan to purchase a house. If you do buy it, congratulations on losing your money and reducing consumers buying power. Bravo! You really deserve it.
Fuyoh! that’s so cheap… if i didn’t buy my Civic turbo, i just need to add a bit to get this merc
The monthly lease commitment is not bad at all, considering it includes servicing. Of course from an investment point of view, it and all cars (except limited edition collectors cars and future classics) makes no sense. But if you enjoy driving, think you will find that the experience is priceless.
its all nice…but whoever buy this will regret when the C53 with the proper straight six arrives…
Wireless charging? U sure??
