Just two weeks to go until the first ever paultan.org Premium Auto Car Expo (PACE) powered by Petron Blaze 100 Euro 4M kicks off, and among the various new metal that will be on display at the event is Kia’s most premium offering to date – the brand new Stinger.
The South Korean carmaker may be a newcomer to the segment but the Stinger comes with all the right ingredients. Like any sports sedan worth its salt, it’s rear-wheel drive and has a chassis developed under the watchful eye of ex-BMW M chief engineer Albert Biermann.
It also comes with a choice of two powerful engines. The GT Line gets a 2.0 litre turbocharged and direct-injected four-cylinder that delivers 251 hp at 6,200 rpm and 353 Nm of torque from 1,400 to 3,500 rpm. It’s paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and will get from zero to 100 km/h in six seconds flat.
But it’s the high-performance GT version that has grabbed the headlines, with its 3.3 litre twin-turbo V6 delivering a stonking 365 hp at 6,000 rpm and 510 Nm of torque between 1,300 and 4,500 rpm. It gets to 100 km/h over a second quicker, blitzing past the benchmark in just 4.9 seconds.
