Honda ‘Terima Kasih 900k’ campaign concludes – nine lucky winners drive home in their brand new Hondas!

Honda Malaysia has reached a landmark milestone after sales hit the 900,000th mark, and it had commemorated this feat by giving back to the community via the Honda Road to 900k campaign. Nine lucky winners had the privilege of driving home in a brand new Honda model, and the handover ceremony took place at the Grand Finale event in Bukit Jalil.

Honda Malaysia CEO and managing director, Toichi Ishiyama said: “We are very grateful to all our customers for their support, which has made Honda a trusted car brand in Malaysia. We are very happy to reach such a significant milestone of 900,000th sales unit since our establishment in 2002, and we want to celebrate it with all Malaysians.”

“This campaign is made extra special as it is the first time Honda Malaysia collaborated with popular homegrown brands – Astro Radio, Tealive, and Unifi – to give away the nine cars. Throughout the campaign period, we received encouraging feedback and active participation from Malaysians. Over 122,000 participations were received in two months,” he added.

To recap, Honda Malaysia was established in 2002 and quickly introduced the first locally-assembled CR-V in 2003. Currently, CKD models represent 95% of the company’s sales volume, while the remaining are from CBU models such as the Odyssey and Civic Type R. Currently, the City remains as the most popular Honda model to date, taking a chunky 33% of the pie, ahead of the HR-V and CR-V at 18% and 14% respectively.

The Road to 900k Grand Finale takes place at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium car park on 28 and 29 September, featuring a carnival-like setup with a gigantic 380-feet-long water slide, virtual reality games, racing simulation with which one pilots the Civic Type R, food and beverages selection from a range of food trucks, as well as “Instagrammable” backdrops.

We were also given a private tour around the upcoming Civic facelift – we’ve already shot a quick walk-around video of the car, so be sure to stay tuned for that. In the mean time, what do you think of the car giveaway event?

Perodua must be feeling the heat as Proton is fast closing the sales gap, even without having a small car to compete. Fear it for it is coming.

Very well done Honda. True Japanese hard work. If you only open directly in Malaysia, you can even sell 1.8 million cars by now.

Pity you have to JV with lazy GLC like DRB who have no motivation to better themselves

So kind for them to giveaway excess stocks. Better than letting them sit and rot when less and less are buying Hondas.

Many feel proud of Honda and Toyota and Perodua but nobody feel proud of Proton eventhough they sold more than 900k.

    • Only Japanese fanboys will feel proud of their family sedan when there is really nothing to be proud off. It’s just a family sedan.

    Two things

    1) How come when I click on a photo from the gallery, there’s Renualt pictures included as well

    2) Are all the winners from the KL area. Any winners from e.g. Perak, Penang?
