Rapid KL has released information on what happened during last night’s LRT Kelana Jaya Line disruption that caused services to be halted prematurely.
According to the statement, an issue with the Automatic Train Control (ATC) system electronics had a malfunction on Saturday (November 5) morning, but a reset on the component seemed to fix the issue.
After midnight, a software update on the ATC system was performed and after the system was tested, they found that it was stable so normal operations continued on Sunday (November 6). However, malfunctions continued to occur at 10:38am and 8:39pm on Monday (November 7).
After train service was halted, Rapid KL worked with the Canadian OEM supplier Thales Group to investigate the root cause of the issues. As of 5:30am today, the technical team managed to stabilise the ATC system but are currently observing to see if any further issues occur.
UPDATE: As of 3:53pm there seems to be issues on the Kelana Jaya line again.

Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
Just scrap out all the old and outdated system. Implement all the new gadgets. Either stick with floppy disk just like the bullet train at . Is very reliable and durable till this day
If you haven’t been aware, we aren’t exactly flushed with gold and the global inflation has did a number onto our finances. In truth, Rapidrail had replaced the entire system for Ampang Line but that was forced to as the company that built the trains & rail system gone bust. The KJ Line had good bones built by renowned railmaker Bombardier & Thales. The system had run well for the past 20 years and ageing issues will invariably creep in but the OEM are still around and they still willing to help repair.
These are not capalang brand trains but while we have First World equipment what failed was having 3rd World servicing brought upon by irresponsible budget cuts.
We have nasty LRT accident.Frequent disruptions due to malfunction.
Thats why, people got fed up,buy a Viva or kancil.which sadly created another problem..jams.
If Elon Musk is given greenlight to buy,u can bet he will sack half the deadwood.
It is quite amusing the leftist are using a rightist billionaire as their shining example. Really boggles the mind.
Speaking of Elon Musk and trains, in other news, he had quietly been dismantling the testing track of his failed Hyperloop train. A matter of irony for you to bring him up.
I got stuck but was lucky as destination was clise by. Took a taxi costing RM8. But those who needed to go putra heights or gombak, good luck. Lrt staff clueless on what to do. I showed them free bus service they say does not cover the ampang psrk ststion. Tourist who bought day tickets cannot use trains. But cannot get refund either
Yup try using alternatives in getting to unaffected stations to continue your journey. It is about planning alternatives. People forget there are also taxis and Grab.
