Car Buyer's Guide

Overview

The Jetour Dashing is a C-segment, five-seat petrol SUV launched in Malaysia in 2025. It suits buyers after a conventional family SUV with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine and wet dual-clutch automatic gearbox, rather than an EV. Prices start at RM106,800 for the Comfort.

Dashing in 2026 — what's new

For 2026, the standard Dashing line-up remains the Comfort and Prime, both five-seat 1.5T petrol SUVs with a wet dual-clutch automatic. The main update is the Dark Warrior Limited Edition, announced with a matte black exterior, 156 PS and 230 Nm from its 1.5T engine, and a RM117k price. Jetour Malaysia Club also now covers Dashing owners.

Which variant to buy

Most buyers should start with the Comfort at RM106,800. It has the same 1,498 cc petrol engine, 154 hp output, wet dual-clutch automatic gearbox and five-seat layout as the Prime at RM116,800. The RM10,000 gap does not buy a different mechanical package, so pay more for the Prime only if its showroom equipment and trim are items you actually want.

Verdict

The Dashing lands in a C-segment SUV class with 49 rivals. Its entry price matches the Proton X70’s starting point, sits RM3,000 above the Proton eMas 7 and below the Leapmotor B10 and Dongfeng Vigo. It is not the cheapest way into the class. What it does have is a five-seat 1.5T petrol package and CKD production in Tampoi, Johor.
