Overview
The MINI 3 Door is a B-segment, four-seat petrol hatchback for buyers who want a compact front-wheel-drive MINI with proper performance. The F66 generation launched in 2024 and starts from RM279,888 in Cooper S form, with the more powerful John Cooper Works at the top of the range.
3 Door in 2026 — what's new
The F66 MINI 3 Door carries into 2026 unchanged in petrol form, with Cooper S and John Cooper Works variants continuing the range. Both use a 1,998 cc petrol engine, front-wheel drive and a wet dual-clutch automatic gearbox, but the JCW raises output from 201 hp to 228 hp. The 1965 Victory Edition introduced in 2026 is based on the electric JCW 3 Door and does not alter the petrol range.

Which variant to buy
Most buyers should pick the RM279,888 Cooper S. Its 201 hp 1,998 cc petrol engine, front-wheel drive, wet dual-clutch automatic and four-seat cabin match the basic mechanical layout of the JCW, while saving RM39,000. The RM318,888 John Cooper Works is for drivers who specifically want the 228 hp version. On paper, that RM39,000 gap buys 27 hp; check the equipment list before treating the JCW badge as reason enough to spend more.

MINI 3 Door buyer's guides & reviews
Verdict
The MINI 3 Door is an expensive small hatch, even before moving up to the JCW. The Cooper S costs RM86,000 more than the MINI Electric, while the JCW is RM3,288 dearer than the Toyota GR Yaris. Still, it gives buyers a compact four-seat petrol MINI with 201 hp or 228 hp, front-wheel drive and a dual-clutch automatic. Choose it for that specific formula, not for a bargain.
