Have you heard of Climb Dance? Climb Dance is an award-winning short film of about 5 minutes that documents Ari Vatanen’s record-breaking run at the 1988 annual Pike’s Peak Hill Climb Event in Colorado. The car used is a Peugeot 405 T16 with four-wheel-drive and four-wheel-steering. Footage from the video was recorded from cameras placed inside, in front, underneath and above the car, and cut together by Louis Mourey. Check out the video after the jump.

I think the twin-engined twin turbo escudo driven by Monster Tajima must be more mental than this.

Tajima is the current world record holder for Pikes Peak Uphill and Downhill climb.

Amazing that this video won so many film awards. IMHO speeding up Pikes Peak on a loose surface like that is tantamount to playing Russian Roulette!

Err…Paul….where to download ah? It is rare to find such good quality race video and what's more with Ari Vatanen in it. He's like a legend in rally. I'd like to keep a copy.

sxe10r: rally drivers have been drifting cars more than 30 years before drifting became popular with todays younger generation.

this film is the best ever done on pikes peak imho. the 405T16 was already a legend in its time, and with Ari Vatanen, near perfection ;)

i remember the first time i saw this film was almost 17 years ago.
