China’s first independently-developed hydrogen engine by ChangAn

Of the many Chinese car manufacturers, some of the Malaysian public would have been introduced to the ChangAn brand already because of the ChangAn MPV that has been spotted going around the Klang Valley on road tests.

Anyhow, ChangAn’s R&D has been advancing and their labs have managed to churn out something much more advanced than the ChangAn CM8 – China’s first independently-developed hydrogen engine!

ChangAn began to research this hydrogen engine back in 2005, and a prototype has been produced after 2 years.

Scary, for some reason I think compressed hydrogen and China’s current “excellent” manufacturing quality standards just don’t mix well. That, and their many fireworks factory.

“Recently the poison Made in China foods and products cases at America has brought a NEW nickname to CHINA product…….. which is “CHINA FREE”. American Consumers prefer to buy product like “SUGAR FREE” , “XXX FREE”, and now with the new Sticker of “CHINA FREE” meant no made in China or not even used Chinese raw materials to produce this product as selling point.

This made in China Hidrogen Engine might be the same, full of doubt and safety concerns. Could be a DEADLY Bomb to you!”

“claims to have cracked water-fuel secret” by malaysian already old story le… the news is big as i remember but thereafter, no more news and no result. my best guess either it is real and sold to other country or it has not been so perfect yet and can’t deliver the promises.

It didn’t mention anything about a fuel cell, which means this most likely work like an NGV but just replace the NG with H.

All you need to do is just tune timing, adjust compression and change stainless steel eksos pipe and add a NGV fuel tank and fuel lines on top of any car and it will run on hydrogen.

Source of hydrogen? There is no such thing as source of hydrogen unless each of our city is powered by nuclear reactor.

Agree with PTA. Thumb up for ChangAn. Myself got impressed by China man how determine they are. But lack of creativity and business minded [profits].

Hydrogen is mainly found from water (H2O) as i know there’s technology to seperate H2O to independent molecule. Not sure, either the device not suitable or not realiable to use it on automobile industry yet. (Please correct me if i were wrong)

On other hand, its not easy path to bring these technologies into consumer market as most petroleum companies will be impact the most and greatly impact to our global economy. What i do believe were, someone already had these technology but awaiting for “something”

If we Malaysian can learn the art of copying people, we will surely moving forward.
