Mercedes-Benz F-CELL Roadster Concept

First of all, what’s with the bicycle wheels??? Actually this is more like an extreme example of retro-futurism as all the first few cars including Henry Ford’s had wheels that looked like this. In actual fact its a modern reenactment of the Benz Patent Motorwagen. This is Mercedes-Benz’s F-CELL Roadster Concept.

It’s powered by a fuel cell located at the rear producing just 1.2 kilowatts, or 1.6 horsepower. It has a range of 350km and a top speed of 25km/h. Perfect for navigating golf courses in style? Check out more hi-res shots after the jump.

the car is most likely super light.. so the skinny tyres shouldnt be a problem.. plus they will also reduce drag, and will be better in terms of economy.

besides that, it only goes 25km/h la.

I can almost feel the safety of the chassis enveloping me…. another case of ideas running out. Good thing they call it a concept. Why even go down this route in vehicle design?

The body design are perfect but the wheels are ugly. Looks like a junk car that uses new body design. A stupid design even it is not beautiful as any other mercs models. Using a racing bicycle wheels in big size would better than ordinary steel stick wheels and makes that car would go faster.
