These design sketches are of the Hyundai HND-9 concept, which the Korean firm is bringing to this year’s Seoul motor show at the end of the month. The name refers to the ninth concept from Hyundai’s Namyang, Korea R&D centre.
While the Detroit-debuting HCD-14 concept previewed the next-gen Hyundai Genesis in a sleek four-door coupe form, this one previews a “next-generation luxury sports coupe” – it must be the next Genesis Coupe, then.
The concept’s engine, a turbocharged 3.3 litre GDI unit, feeds 370 hp to the rear wheels through an eight-speed auto ‘box. Whether this powertrain will carry forward to the production Genesis Coupe or not is yet to be confirmed, but it seems realistic enough a setup. Hyundai does not say how many cylinders the engine has, but it’s most probably a V6.
An evolution of the ‘Fluidic Sculpture‘ design philosophy, the concept features butterfly doors and classic coupe proportions thanks to its long bonnet, raked windscreen, tapering roofline and muscular rear haunches. Those are some interesting-looking quad tailpipes, too. More to be uncovered when the covers come off!

This is why Toyota is starting to freak out. I have to bow and respect the Koreans. The sushi seems to be sleeping compared to the Kimchi. I might resign from Toyota as I feel Toyota is getting more and more lembap. Old fashion. In Motorsports also big failure. To all my fans, I might jump ship soon!
Lol…
why does it look like the lexus concept……-.-……
I thought so too, but I got fed up of comparing car design…… So who cares! It’s still awesome. But it’s still a sketch and the front hint it may look like sergeant Keroro’s face.
looks so much like the lexus LF-LC……gosh….design your own car already kia…
I find Hyundai’s interpretation of the design much better than the LCLY. Saying there can’t be similar copies of car design is like saying there can only be 1 unique pretty girl in the world.
It is all about your mentality, it is all about how open mind u wanna be. If you are already being preoccupied with the mindset of “Korean cars are low quality”, no matter how hard the Hyundai or KIA try improve its quality, you will still be the same person, hence it is totally redundant to participate like an adult, in such a great motoring forum.
is this applicable to PROTON???
Hyundai has been coming out with great looking cars recently. They should consider to create a luxury arm like lexus from toyota
