W205 Mercedes-Benz C-Class caught undisguised!

Mercedes-C-class-003

Here are the first shots of a completely undisguised next-generation W205 Mercedes-Benz C-Class on winter testing in northern Scandinavia.

The W205 C-Class is probably very close to production now since it’s been spotted completely undisguised, and perhaps Mercedes-Benz thought the car would be safe from the prying eyes of our European spy photographers, but a super telephoto lens, perfect timing and a perfect position provided the opportunity for these shots.

The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class could make its motorshow debut sometime towards the end of this year or early 2014. An additional photo in this set (shown below) shows the layout of the front lamps which mimic the new W222 S-Class and the recently facelifted W212 E-Class.

As far as our market is concerned, for engine options we’re expecting the new 2.0 litre turbo CGI engines in the E-Class facelift to power the new C-Class replacing the old 1.8 litre CGI units.

We might also see a C-Class Hybrid be made available for the first time, though it’s unclear if it will make it’s way to Malaysia with an attractive price tag due to uncertainties whether hybrid tax incentives will be continued past the end of this year.

The front looks okay but I think the rear looks a bit weird. It looks like a super small version of the latest S-Class (w222). I wonder how the C63 AMG would look like

Indeed the front and the light design looks good but the rear looks awkward…maybe need to see it in the flesh to appreciate the design.

Now I’m waiting to see what Audi has for the new A4 that should be coming out in the same year.

Sure this isn’t the new CLA??

Size seems small compared to the current C class!

From the blurred pictures, it looks as if Merc took inspiration from bugs and insects to design the headlights.

    And that rear, really Mercedes?

Ever since your new design direction starting with the A-Class, I was hoping you guys can finally create stunning designs again.

But the new E left me feeling cold (except in Elegance form), the S has a weird back, and now this thing?

Oh well, at least the alloys look good (5th pic).
