Two days ago we brought to you the first photos of a high powered 2-door coupe version of the Lexus IS belonging to the high performance ‘F’ family, as the quad tailpipes on the rear hint at. Though traditionally we should be calling the car an IS F Coupe, it looks like Lexus is following BMW’s footsteps in giving the coupe version of its compact executive a different name.
A name that’s been mooted is Lexus RC, so this high performance version will be known as the Lexus RC F. This spy video tells you things that mere spy photography cannot – it lets you listen to the growl of the V8 underneath. It also tells us through the sound of the shifts that it’s mated to an automatic gearbox.
