Good news for the upcoming Raya celebrations. Road users travelling during the festive period can expect discounts on highway toll rates, The Star reports.
Works Minister Datuk Fadillah Yusof said 23 highway concessionaires have agreed to provide incentives to road users in the form of free toll, discounts and rebates. Maju Expressway (MEX) is waiving toll fares for motorists on July 28.
PLUS, which operates five highways including the North-South Expressway, will be offering a 30% discount for Class 1 vehicles paying electronically (PLUSMiles, Touch n Go, SmartTAG) on July 23-24 and July 30-31. Besides rewarding its customers, the PLUS move is also to promote electronic payment and encourage motorists to travel on non-peak days.
The toll rebate can be redeemed at all PLUS customer service centres from September 1 till November 30 this year. Note that the rebate excludes Tanjung Kupang, Bukit Kayu Hitam, Bangunan Sultan Iskandar and Penang Bridge toll plazas.
