SPYSHOTS: Mazda CX-5 facelift – new grille and lamps

Mazda-CX-5-2

Today we’re offering you a first look of the Mazda CX-5 facelift, seen here on test in Europe with most of the updated bits taped over.

What they couldn’t really cover up is the new front grille, which switches from the current CX-5’s honeycomb design to one with five horizontal bars. The front bumper looks exactly the same save for the lack of foglamps, but this might change for the final product.

Both the headlamps and tail lamps are covered up, indicating changes in the design. If you peek through the disguise on the headlamps, you can see that they have been given LED light bars to serve as daytime running lights. The DRL design looks similiar to the new Mazda 2’s headlamps.

The tail lamp graphics seem to have been inspired by the same semi-circle design that’s featured on the Mazda 2’s tail lamps as well.

  • A new facelift of CX5 is on its way already but Bermaz is still struggling to supply enough CX5 to meet the demand here.

    • That means we malaysians are still waiting for the old-designed new cars after paying booking fee while the new designed cars have already on ground on the other side of the globe. Are we living in the third world country?

CX5 can be a good option to other similar SUV/Crossover in the market now. I know, because I test drive one back in Mei. But at the end. I went for the Nissan Murano instead. Because of the long waiting list due to limited stock especially on the models that I intend to purchase. So, Mazda better improve on their stock.
