While they already look like masterpieces on their own, the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, CLA-Class and GLA-Class have been given unique visual treatments by three local artists, who go by the bynames Fritilldea, Donald Abraham and Orkibal. This is all part of Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s Urban Hunting campaign.
The first one is done up by self-taught artist Fritilldea, who has been featured in various international magazines. This time, he layed out his work on a canvas that’s in the form of a Mercedes-Benz GLA 250. Decked out in a palette of colours, this mural is called “Muhibbah.”
The theme means to have a great level of understanding, love and respect towards the diversity of customs, religious beliefs and opinions. Fritilldea further summarises that his work – “beneath the chaos”, is an expression of unity amongst Malaysians from all walks of life.
The Mercedes-Benz CLA 200, meanwhile, was handed to rebel artist Donald Abraham, who like his two other counterparts, has also been featured in US-based magazines. Abraham labels his piece “Wild Cosmos.”
Abraham describes his work as a “reflection of how quickly life passes by for him.” Designed in black and white motifs and distinctive miniature icons, Abraham hopes to impress the younger crowd with his oeuvre.
The Mercedes-Benz A 250 Sport that was featured earlier in Bangsar, found its way back on the spot as you can see here. We now know the official title for this piece, it’s called “Beautiful Chaos” by artist Orkibal.
A man who is on a personal quest to bring together graphic design and fine art, Orkibal leaves the interpretation open to art lovers.
