The second-generation Kia Sorento currently sold in Malaysia underwent a pretty significant facelift a year ago, emerging with not just new looks, but a new platform as well. One year on, and Kia is already working on the next-generation of its mid-size SUV, which could debut sometime in 2015.
Shown here is the next-gen Sorento heavily covered with camo, but you can see a bit of the headlamp design through the disguise as well as the shape of Kia’s ‘tiger grille’ up front. The nose is a lot more upright compared to the current generation. It will probably share plenty of technical bits with the latest Hyundai Santa Fe, which has just undergone a full model refresh.
We wonder if Kia will follow the Santa Fe’s lead with short and long wheelbase versions of the Sorento, now that the large Kia Mohave has been phased out in many countries. Full gallery of the Malaysian-spec current Kia Sorento here.

Don’t think this is next gen la Paul, maybe facelift version..see the body line of the car still look same like 2nd generation..
developing an all new car takes years – including design, studying its trend and reliability tests.
as the general car life span is about 5 years, it is just natural for a manufacturer to start doing R&D after a model is launched.
proton should do the same rather than wait 20 years before replacing with BLM and 15 years with wira – persona.
and 12 years for waja replacement, if it is the preve. inspira doesnt count here.
Proton story aside….If it is a next gen Sorento in its predecessor skin shell then they won’t apply so heavy camouflage wrap like that
Wow, the current owners are more Hailat than ever.
Anyway, my car yard does not accept Sorento for trade ins. Hard to sell even if I bring them in cheaper than Hyundai
I think this is reskinning only. The platform is still same.
