SPYSHOTS: Is this the Jaguar F-Type R-S Coupe?

Jaguar F-Type R-S spy 2

We’ve shown you spyshots of the Jaguar F-Type Coupe; now it’s time for something with even sharper claws. Our trusty Continental peeping Toms have caught what could be a Jaguar F-Type R-S Coupe at the Nurburgring.

Here’s why – see those cross-drilled brake dics and those big yellow callipers? Last we saw them, they were fitted to the very brutal and very bespoilered XKR-S GT. Enlarge the shot by clicking on it, zoom in and you’ll see the words “Jaguar Carbon Ceramic” printed on the callipers. So this could even be a R-S GT version!

The most powerful F-Type is currently the 495 PS/625 Nm V8 S variant – expect this one to have 550 PS at its disposal. Because it doesn’t need to be as structurally reinforced as the 1.6-tonne roadster, the fixed-roof Jaguar F-Type should be lighter, more aerodynamic and therefore faster.

While most dream of the future, Jonathan Tan dreams of the past, although he's never been there. Fantasises much too often about cruising down Treacher Road (Jalan Sultan Ismail) in a Triumph Stag that actually works, and hopes this stint here will snap him back to present reality.

This is the definitive version of the F-Type car.It could be a strong rival to the new Porsche 911 Turbo or even Ferrari 458 Italia, provided it has some sort of traction/electronic stability control at its disposal.
