As reported earlier, customers in the US have already started personalising their Tesla Model X vehicles, with two levels of reservations available, a regular model and a limited Signature edition.
Now, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Motors, has revealed in a Twitter post that the electric car manufacturer’s first production crossover will be delivered on September 29 at its Fremont factory in California to customers who reserved this particular model.
He explained that the top-spec Model X with the same options at $132,000 (RM 573,540), is $5,000 (RM21,755) more expensive than the Model S due to its greater size and body complexity. Musk adds that the limited Signature edition is “fully loaded, hence the high price.”

It should be noted that this pricing does not include the $10,000 (RM43,459) “Ludicrous Speed Upgrade” option. Just to recap, the Model X Signature edition will have a 90 kWh battery, which will give it a mileage of 386 km on a full charge.
The X will reach 96 km/h (60 mph) in 3.8 seconds, with 259 hp from the front motor and 503 hp from the rear motor, which propels it to a 250 km/h top speed. With the Ludicrous mode, it’ll get to 96 km/h in 3.2 seconds. Impressive statistics for a seven-seat family vehicle.
Standard equipment includes “Falcon Wing” rear doors with built-in sensors, and free long-distance travel on Tesla’s expanding Supercharger network. Autopilot features such as self parking, as well as air suspension, satellite radio, ventilated leather seats and independently-adjustable adult-sized second- and third-row seats are all standard too.
