Toyota Vios buyer wins Camry Hybrid in UMW contest

UMWT-Contest-Winner

Buy a Toyota Vios and win a Toyota Camry Hybrid? That was what happened to Khoo Bee Ngoh who came out tops in the Toyota Buy & Win Contest, which concluded in December 2015 after attracting 9,000 entries.

“I was very shocked when I was informed [about the result]. I feel very lucky and happy to have won this prize. I never expected to receive such good news after I bought my Toyota Vios,” Khoo said. The travel and photography enthusiast’s lucky Vios 1.5J was purchased during the Toyota WOW Roadshow at Sunway Pyramid.

The Toyota Buy & Win Contest was part of UMW Toyota Motor’s second nationwide Toyota WOW Road Tour is Back 2 Excite campaign. The contest gave the opportunity to all customers who placed an order at the roadshow to win a Camry Hybrid. The roadshow featured fun activities including drift demos with the Toyota 86. There will be more “WOW deals” this year, UMWT says.

Speaking of the Camry Hybrid, it was recently announced that the D-segment sedan’s price of RM174,900 will be unchanged for 2016 thanks to the extension of CKD hybrid incentives.

  • Toyota - Big Disgrace in Malaysia on Feb 03, 2016 at 2:32 pm

Toyota is a very sad company. They need to have contests to entice buyers cause nobody is buying their dangerous cars ie unfit and unsafe for the road.

Toyota is a good car. But only in overseas. In Malaysia, UMW has been cheating Malaysians with poor safety cars. In overseas, all toyotas come with VSC an about 6 to 10 airbags.

In Malaysia, because of the fact that UMW is GLC and Government owned, UMW can do anything. In Malaysia, UMW is known as Al Capone or Mafia. They strip the Toyota to basic level and sell you the Toyota, which, in global standards are highly dangerous.

In Malaysia for example, even top of the range Camry costing now RM160k has only 2 airbags and no VSC. The global Camry, which only cost US$22k, comes with 10 bags, VSC and about 20 other safety features taken out from UMW’s version of Toyota.

Why does UMW do this? Simple. They want to reap more profits at the expense of your life. How can we stop this? We can’t. UMW is the Government. So, as you know, in Malaysia, you cannot complain against the Government

UMW also don’t care if Toyota lose money. Janji their cashcow Perodua brings in the bulk of the cash, they are happy

Its not a big issue for umw to give free cars. They already rip customers for years by reducing the real car spec and selling it higher profit… So dont get surprised if they organise this type of events in future…
