Seven customised 2018 Ford Mustangs will be shown at the Specialty Equipment Market Association Show – better known as SEMA – in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ford’s performance ponies at SEMA will come with either the 2.3 litre EcoBoost four-pot, or the 5.0 litre V8, with various customisers putting their particular touch on things.
Coming with a front splitter, custom graphics and carbon-fibre rear wing is the MAD Industries Mustang Convertible, which carries a 2.3 litre EcoBoost mill fitted with cold air intake and Borla exhaust. Also in the equipment list is coilover suspension, upgraded sway bars and 20-inch Niche Staccato wheels.
Roush is no stranger to hopped-up Fords, and its submission for SEMA features a supercharged 729 hp 5.0 litre V8 Mustang, fed by a cold-air intake and ram air hood. Carbon-fibre components litter this build, topped off with a Roush Performance Stratasys body kit, along with Recaro seats, roll cage and 20-inch wheels.
Clad in a stealthy grey, the Tucci Hot Rods Mustang has been tuned for a top speed of 321 km/h, aided by a twin-turbo 5.0 litre V8 and various aerodynamic bodywork add-ons. Riding on adjustable air suspension, G-Force provides the driveshaft and rear axle for the Tucci Mustang, along with sway bars from Ford Performance and Wilwood Aero brakes.
Another Mustang convertible is the submission from Speedkore, which comes with the tagline, “a modern interpretation of the classic American roadster.” Custom paint and carbon-fibre decorate this drop-top, which carries a supercharged 5.0 litre V8 mated to a 10-speed slush box, along with a leather interior clad in “Bomber Brown.”
Professional racer Brad Deberti puts his twist on the DeBerti Design Mustang, which has a new hood, widebody kit and 20-inch Forgiato wheels. The supercharged V8 is fitted with a Borla exhaust and power is transmitted via a six-speed manual gearbox, with Watson Racing independent rear suspension and a Currie 9.0-inch third member.
This DeBerti Design Mustang was designed by professional racer Brad Deberti, who brings a new level of modern muscle to a 2018 Ford Mustang GT outfitted with a Roush Supercharger. The body was widened to fit Mickey Thompson 18-inch wide rear tires. The hood was specially designed to tie in both old and new muscle. Looking at this Mustang from any direction brings out a feeling of what it would be like to go fast in style.
Created by DRAGG – a non-profit youth-oriented automotive after-school program – this 2018 Ford Mustang EcoBoost is a philanthropic speedster. DRAGG – Drag Racing Against Gangs and Graffiti – created a uniquely custom Guardian-themed police vehicle with this 2018 Ford Mustang EcoBoost, taking an ordinary street vehicle to an extraordinary one-of-a-kind, ecofriendly, custom-service vehicle with a global purpose. The Guardian Mustang symbolizes the commitment of the police to the communities they serve.
This 2018 Ford Mustang GT Convertible features the best of both worlds, with modern performance and powertrain options such as carbon fiber aero touches and updated suspension and powertrain enhancements. The classic American roadster theme is evoked with handmade trim, brushed aluminum accents, and an all-leather Bomber Brown interior. This striking automobile features a carbon fiber roll bar with aluminum trim. The tonneau cover is a modern throwback to classic speedsters and racecars from the 1930’s.
A full bodykit graces the Air Design Mustang, which comes with a new front bumper, reworked side skirts and a performance oriented diffuser. Carrying the 2.3 litre EcoBoost, the Air Design customised Mustang is fitted with Recaro leather seats and Wilwood brakes.
Decked out in black and white as a police vehicle, the DRAGG Mustang – DRAGG standing for Drag Racing Against Gangs and Graffiti – looks the part with police roof lights, push bar and front splitter. A lowering kit has been added, and 20-inch Velgen wheel completes the DRAGG build, which uses the EcoBoost power plant fitted with Air raid intake and Borla exhaust.
