Proton X50 to get ACO Tech Atlas OS via OTA update soon – over 300 improvements, more user-friendly UI

The Proton X50 will soon receive the Atlas infotainment operating system, according to ACO Tech. At today’s official launch of the Atlas OS, a Proton X50 with the Atlas OS installed was on display.

First released for the Proton Iriz and Persona B-segment hatchback and sedan, the 2022 iteration of the Atlas OS brings more than 300 improvements, along with a more approachable user interface. As of today, there are more than 10,000 vehicles with Atlas installed, including the Iriz and Persona.

Users of the new system are greeted by a new multi-display home screen, and its widgets can be customised as one would with a smartphone. Updates to the OS include improved voice recognition and an emergency notification function, as well as improvements to the navigation system with real-time traffic and lane guidance.

On the X50 demonstrator, the Atlas OS offers a selection of themes, wallpapers and screensavers – as on a smartphone – in addition to phone mirroring and vehicle status display. At its initial announcement last year, entertainment content was provided by the Joox online music streaming service as well as Astro’s Syok platform.

Atlas OS now runs on Android 10, and incorporates a digital voice assistant, navigation with real-time traffic, personalised functions as well as the A-Store online store for apps, content and data packages. Set to join the Atlas digital ecosystem is a global partnership for audio streaming, ACO Tech CEO Li Pu announced today, although it wasn’t mentioned which service will be added.

Today’s launch event for the Atlas operating system also saw the announcement of strategic partnerships between ACO Tech and several parties including UOB Malaysia, Five Petroleum Malaysia (Five) and Fass Payment Solutions (Fasspay).

The joint venture is aimed at integrating in-car connected services and the existing ecosystem for the business partners into one platform, in which Atlas Pay – powered by Fasspay – will enable its users to make payments and transactions securely without leaving their vehicles.

Through its collaboration with UOB Malaysia and Fasspay, ACO Tech will implement a car-based digital wallet system and in-car payment system that will became available in the fourth quarter of this year.

Additionally, ACO Tech also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to expand its alliance with Huawei Technologies Malaysia for the continued development of cloud-based solutions built on Huawei Cloud for regional markets. This is to enable both parties to acceleration innovations in software for big data and artificial intelligence to further promote the adoption of smart technology, the company said.

Copy paste: “Hard for any current cars to implement next gen Apple Carplay with the need for super long screen
      https://paultan.org/2022/06/07/next-gen-apple-carplay-previewed/

And Android Auto is being obsoleted
      https://paultan.org/2021/08/23/android-auto-for-phone-screens-to-be-replaced-by-google-assistant-driving-mode-on-android-12-devices/

The best free advice is to stick with built in player, no need headache as the functions are all suited for it.”

False info the article indicates the obsolete is only for the Android Auto phone apps (basically using your phone to display Android Auto) quoted based on the article you have pasted
“with a notice telling users that “Android Auto is now only available for car screens”

Ok. Have fun with you Kelantan CarPlay and Sabah Auto! I myself will enjoy Google Maps and Waze on my Apple CarPlay and Android Auto equipped CR-V, a car with better power, handling and resale value than X70.

HU spec is crap. Aco wants to make it multipurpose for what? To monetize isit? Instead of putting those unreliable apps which will make the HU super lag, y don’t just install AA/CP? Let our phone process all our favorite apps.

I like the new version, more colourful & choice. But, there are few bugs need to rectify: 1) Slow in response to voice command. 2) Motion image from 360 camera is lagging, especially during car reversing.
