For 2026, the Malaysian MG S5 moves to CKD assembly at EPMB’s Melaka plant. The current local line-up is reduced to one Lux variant, pairing a 62 kWh battery with a 205 PS/350 Nm motor and 446 km of WLTP range. A facelifted Chinese-market MG S5, sold there as the MG4X, gains a semi-solid-state battery option, up to 204 PS and 610 km CLTC range; those changes are not confirmed for Malaysia.
