Volvo’s C30 production car was not expected to be unveiled until the 2006 Paris Motor Show in September, but photos of the production version of the car has surfaced on the internet. The car does not differ much from the original concept shown at the New York Motor Show. Engine options are expected to be similiar to the line-up found in the Volvo S40 – 1.6, 1.8, 2.4, 2.5 T5 gasoline engines as well as two turbodiesels in 1.6 and 2.0 displacement. More photos after the jump!

    Sleek design!!!
Instead of bulding 450 millions of stadium in London for those stupid olahragawan/wati for training, why not invest on car design to improve quality of local made car.

they once said, when you are getting older and sorting out what you gonna drive once the pencen scheme started, get a volvo. the image of it become very synonim with the old man’s car. but not now. everything has changed. and my GOD, they changed it dramatically.

this volvo has emerged from the people who design ‘pencen’ hallmarks like the 240 and 850. and, they make errmm…a little changes. the twin pipes, look appealling (old man doesnt need sex anymore), the body become shorter (their missuss can park quicker and better), the number of doors trimmed to two from four (thats mean, no grand kiddy), electrical sunroof ( oldies love the moon lite more than the sun light), and the interior looks better than their old 200 or 240.

well, what can i say more? chheeerrsss!

A more conventional rear design would be easier to swallow…

im a big fan of volvo cars from the 240 model until now.. but this one, somethings wrong with it.. some ppl would say the rear doesnt match the front end. i like the rear, but theres just something wrong about it…

is this the model that was designed by a group of women?

Very nice car, I like the rear the best; the lower windows make it easier when reversing the car. Most cars nowadays have their arses so high it’s difficult to see anything behind the car. Not this car though, it looks like a breeze to park.

i’ll buy it if they make a 4door version of this car.. *just kidding paul ;)

i think its a brave move by volvo. a huge departure from their previous cars. Its also interesting to note that their recent concept cars have a lot of their elements intact in this model. Especially the rear end. I think volvo has been really successful in dropping their “uncle car” tag. Might even consider a volvo over a beemer. :)

It makes the NEO look like a product from last century. When other are progressing a lot & proton just move a baby step. Paul, how much it cost if without tax?

nice Volvo there.. just.. need some time to accept the rear lights…

the rear was derived from a old concept car -Volvo SCC..the rest of the design is based on current S40..or u may call it a volvo s40 hatchback… Apparently this car is targeting the young adult market with its bold design and sporty image..just like satria neo

The car with a coffin-like rear end finally made it to production eh?
    Ugh!

the wide rear screen is a improvement on the visibility in the car, which is one of the selling point(safety feature) for c30. in the mean time, this is the link for the Volvo SCC-safety concept car:

I look up and down also.. how can this Volvo relate anything to Neo? When Neo launch and the poor rakyat book it, it’s already old story and seems Neo belong to the past lioa… afterall, new car like volvo don just have AirBag or ABS/EBD as standard, they have diff safety tech. ABS and AirBag is like part of the daily requirement and still our Proton/Perodua make it a premium.

I think I’m gonna wait till this car is launch where I get to see it and touch it….or maybe drive it. The rear is alright. It resemble the family look like the XC90. Somehow, I feel that the combination of the front and the rear look are very odd. Something there……hmmmm….it reminds me of Volvo 340 and 360.

I don’t know if it looks feminine but I think it looks like a chubby little boy.

Volvo is seriously getting the momentum here in their designing directions. At least not like BMW who flipped flop from east to west, left to right, inside out sometimes…..

love the design. yes, volvo is well on the way to shed the “uncle car” image. love the looks! especially the concept car rear design. I think it is good for volvo to try out new design languages. If they stick to tried and tested designs (note – boring), there would not be any progress. (BMW’s efforts are questionable though)

this car has two engine at the moment…. one is 2.0 if i not mistaken and another is T5…the T5 version is fast… 0-100km/h is 6.4 seconds. Faster than the new 325i and Audi A4TFSI. Volvo now is really a good car. Check out the news of BMW plans to buy VOLVO, they knew it’s the safest car+ performance n new design n therefore try to take over the competitor!~ :)
