Toyota TRD Aurion Pro-Facfory Xtreme

Aurion

That red blur that you see above is Toyota’s TRD Aurion Pro-Facfory Xtreme, which made its debut at the Willowbank Raceway in Queensland, Australia last week.

Toyota claims the TRD Aurion Pro-Facfory Xtreme produces over 1740 horsepower from its turbocharged 6 cylinder engine and can get up to 100km/h from a standstill in less than 1 second. The car can achieve a top speed of over 350km/h.

Now that’s truly insane… wonder if those numbers are real or just something theoretical. Imagine the traction needed to get up to 100km/h in less than 1 second, plus would the turbo boost kick in that fast? I’d imagine a big turbine with lots of lag to get it up to those horsepower figures.

    This is a prostock class dragster. Like that abtm meantioned, it only has the headlight in common. These things have a bespoke tubeframe chassis.

    These things will do the 1/4 mile in about 6 seconds or less…so your 1 sec century time is valid.

    As for the turbo “kicking in”, we used to use nitrous injection to spool up the turbos…:p

    Is that a car, or jet fighter?

    0-100kmph in 1 secs? And how many G is that?

    Physics101:
    100kmph = 27.78 meter per secs

    gravity = 10 meter per secs square

    2.7 times of gravity.
