Thanks to Kia-World.net, we now have some interior images of upcoming 2010 Kia Sorento for your viewing pleasure. Via these images, we now know that the completely new interior layout features an instrument panel with 3 pods outlined with chrome accents and a more attractive looking steering wheel with audio controls. This is probably a model fitted with the new R engine turbodiesel, looking at the RPM redline.

There is also a coloured LCD display screen on the centre dash which is surrounded by audio controls and automatic climate controls at the bottom. There are also auxiliary and USB input jacks at the very bottom. Kia has also added a two-piece sun roof, for the front and rear passengers. Kia’s have never failed to impress me , despite the fact it started making cars after some many years proton manufacture cars, its just really good to look and you know you could afford it if you wanted to cause either way its a great working man family car that you know you will have a lots of fun with. Just waiting for the new magentis, totally something different. The kia sorento has got me up in anxiety’s cause its only going to be good , better or excellent for its kind of performance and price. Cool sun roof though, just like an overpriced European marquee.

I am not a fan of Kia (or other korean auto manufacturers) But this shows that Kia is improving alot. Wow, nice interior. More upscale look compare to its predecessors. Good job Kia! Kia and Hyundai are on the right track. In the future, GM, Ford and Chyrsler will have hard times catching up with Asian Automakers (Toyota, Honda, Kia, Hyundai etc). Bravo!!!

Actually I wonder whether Naza will be bringing in the Sorento XM becos y’day I went to Naza TTDI n asked but they sort of unaware (or r they pretending??). Instead they said Borrego is already at Gurun plant? In the url I posted earlier on also shows there’s a facelifted Sportage – I suspect they will also be bringing in this one becos the current model under promotion (rm88k) is only on 2008 model – no 2009

  18. Paul Tan said,

    March 20, 2009 @ 6:48 pm

How can Borrego be at Gurun when it is left hand drive only? Unless Naza is doing their own conversion.

Amazing, isn’t it how we like to look down upon the korean. Still remember the Hyundai Excel 20 years ago and how now they come up with the beautiful “i” series. The same goes with Kia.

In fact for Kia, their February sales globally is down by 0.3% compares to others that are floundering. So what if the design studio is in Europe, if that’s where they can come up with the best design & saleable…. why not ….. They have improved because they understand and listen to customer…. that is fact.

Sorry guys…. I am not a Kia salesman but I used to drive the new Sportage for 3 years, sincerely it was better than japanese made that I had previously and i had an enjoyable memories with it, even save my life in an accident. So just tired of all negative comment.

Maybe because here in malaysia we got all the ‘Passe” models couple with the quality of local assembly partner.

    Enough…say my peace

hmmmm, looks like a direct rip off of Mazda RX-8 dashboard? I know I’ve seen it before. Come on Koreans, you can do better than that…

  29. kruzer said,

If some of you have to deal with Korean, Japanese, USA and EU customers, you’d be surprised that the Koreans place extremely high expectations on quality… on par if not higher than the Japanese. So, I’m not surprised that they have improved so much.. their cars, Kia, Hyundai, Daewoo, all have gone global and are giving the others a run for their money. The same can be said of their electronics, where Samsung is now industry leader for LCD TVs, and Sony is even buying the display panel for their LCD TVs because they misread the market and were over-confident of their Trinitron. This is the only way Sony could play catch up, ie buy from the best.

Damn! I envy you. I love the rear end design, but I am not sure about the front end (mimic IS) and interior design. May be I’m still not used to it. Well, Congrats for your new RX350, I guess I am stucked with my 4WD Fortuner hehe.

can’t agree more ….jap cars are just overrated and overpriced. many of their cars are just jap badge only…but if its not made in japan, built quality is inferior to a CBU korean model.

in the US the japanese ( T,H and N) are all suffering around 50% decline in sales while the koreans only drop a few percent…less than 5% if i’m not mistaken

Sony is led by Sir Howard Stringer, and sadly according to Forbes the average net profit margin is about 2.3%. Samsung has consistently made money from DRAMs and overtook Sony quite a while ago.

lexus rx350 may be good, but not worth to buy in malaysia due to taxes and AP’s.
Same as other japanese imports like harrier and murano.
Even if you splurge on a lexus @ RM380k, it will be worth only about RM250 after three years maybe and only RM190k after 5. You will lose more money than buying the kia sorento, as taxes are minimal if you buy a naza, just like buying a proton.
