The future is one where engines have not just been downsized but completely eliminated, or at least that’s the prophecy that the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics makes. The Frankfurt-bound concept has been teaser in this new video from BMW. It’s a bumper-view of the concept car racing down some green B-roads and guess what – no engine noise. It’s definitely a really powerful electric car of sorts, not sure if it will be powered by plug-in chargeable batteries or hydrogen fuel cell. But the sight of the bizarre tail lamps above makes the question of how this new concept will look like an equally big questions as what it’s powered by. Watch the video after the jump.

BMW launches. Looking forward to the
new 320 & 520D come Sept/Oct.
Paul, any link btw the Petronas Dynamic diesel and BMW's ED ?
It is a hybrid concept model featuring 2.0L 4 cylinder variable twin-turbo diesel engine, a 15 kilowatt electric motor driven by a lithium ion battery pack, 8-speed transmission
cant see anything… no clue at all…
WOOT…
Argh, don't tease me…
From my understanding the first EfficientDynamics model to be
introduced in Malaysia will be the 320D followed by the 520D
Currently under wraps in their Kulim plant.(i think)
BMW will be the first in introducing diesel powered
engines here. Hopefully its price would be affordable cos
our new automotive policy should be out by then.(Sept.)
with incentives to enviro/leaner engines.
