The 6 screencaps you see above were captured from a teaser video that Audi have released for its flagship next generation Audi A8 unveiling at the end of this month. • It would look better if they were to launch the a6,but understanding car manuf, that will not launch a head on compete product.

sadly in Malaysia this A8 price and roadtax will be ridiculous to pay for private ownership!

Or is it because I'm not rich enough yet? hehe…

saw an A8 2009 model no plate WSS few days ago… rare stuff! the super hot S8 is available at mudah, the sound it makes rivals a lambo..

new model came out when malaysians barely know the '03 a8 or even the 90s audi a8 for that matter

  • audi has finally found themselves out from the 'poor-man's mercedes' tag. the latest models are so refine in design and the black-chrome theme really makes the car stands out from the rest.

just one problem, it is still front wheel drive. if they make it 4wd quattro for the whole model . it would be superb.

The Audi A8 is launched now because the current A8 is at the end of its life cycle. Looking at the last cycle it's the same in terms of product launch: S Class –> 7 Series –> A8. Audi marketing dept once again will proclaim it is the newest, latest product on the block and imply it's better than the S or 7.

Audi has long since outgrown the image of "poor man's Merc". They are the leaders in Europe. Audi(VW) have the best build quality compared to Merc and BMW.

The A8 is sold with Quattro 4WD but is also sold with fwd only on the entry models.

As far as pricing, they're more or less competitive(maybe a little higher) against the BMW 7 and S Class, both of which are rarely acquired under personal purchase anyway.

The problem with Audis in Malaysia is that the brand presence is still weak though nothing to do with the quality of the product. Because of this the A8 is not aggressively sold and tend to be ignored by corporate buyers.

    Great cars nonetheless

They have a good reason not to push the sales of the A8 in Malaysia.

The A8 is entirely made of Aluminium. Even in Europe, only a few workshops scattered of each country are qualified to repair this car after an accident…
