Mercedes-AMG GT R Drift Transformers

After Bumblebee and Barricade, the next member in the upcoming Transformers 5: The Last Knight film has been revealed, and it is none other than the sword-wielding samurai, Drift.

In a recent posting on his official Twitter account, Michael Bay revealed Drift’s alternate mode – the brand-new Mercedes-AMG GT R. The model recently made its global debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, packing an uprated 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8, with 577 hp and 699 Nm of torque. Other enhancements include a weight-loss programme and various aero bits.

Previously, in Transformers: Age of Extinction, the triple changer Transformer disguised himself as either a Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse or a Sikorsky S-97 Raider helicopter. Whether this new look is considered an upgrade or downgrade, is up to you.

As far as we can see, there is no bonkers bodykit fitted here, unlike the Barricade Ford Mustang and Bumblebee Chevrolet Camaro. Instead, Drift merely gets a dark black paintjob, with red accent stripes occupying the lower areas of the car.

Additionally, new wheels with a black finish have also been fitted to the GT R. The modifications may be modest, but certainly makes for a sinister-looking machine. What do you think of the new Drift?
