Citroen Malaysia announced a surprise over the weekend – the Citroen C3 facelift is now being displayed at all of its showrooms in the country. As always, we made the trip to bring you live photos of the latest five-door hatchback offering.
The updated second-generation C3 is making its debut in Malaysia for the first time. Its distinctive rounded shape may be familiar to those who know the original C3, which was sold here long ago. This C3 is also closely related to the Citroen DS3, as it formed the base of the lifestyle-focused three-door hatch in 2010.
It’s a stylish little thing on its own too. It looks like nothing else on the market, featuring a massive “Zenith windscreen” that stretches as far back as the B-pillars. Like on the Grand C4 Picasso, you can pull the sunshade forward to have a “normal” view out of the front.
The Malaysian-bound units come highly specced, with dual-tone 17-inch wheels fitted as standard. Single-zone automatic air-con, auto lights and wipers plus a touchscreen multimedia head unit with GPS navigation (previously seen on the DS3 Racing; not fitted on the DS3 1.6 VTi) are also thrown in.
As expected, only one engine variant will be offered – the same 1.6 litre VTi 120 unit it shares with the standard DS3 and the non-GTi Peugeot 208. As in the two models mentioned, a four-speed automatic transmission sends power to the front wheels.
The official price tag for the Citroen C3 has yet to be confirmed, but the Citroen Glenmarie showroom did inform us of an indicative price of RM105,000. If accurate, that will make it the most affordable Citroen model here, slotting below the RM117,901 DS3 (price with insurance).

the dash ish sho shiny!
This car RV is even worse than kimchi.
Not everyone is so poor just to bother about RV. You pay 14 thousand RM for a Chanel costume jewelry which you can’t sell it back., Why? Because you just like it. If you just think of RV then gold jewelry is the choice.. Come on not everyone is as poor as you, dumb ass
when they said will bring in around 100k citroen car, i was hoping it is the newer c4 cactus not this one
Guess it will be Mazda 3 then ;)
Man..thats a really big greenhouse…
Frankly….the french should just bring in thier diesels paired with a manual. Since RV is a total loss, must as well put on loads of mileage on them.
Be sure to laminate that wind shield to the max….
Any chip from gravel or bricks from call man will leave tears in your eye…
Also more glasshouse to trap heat inside…
Windscreen insurance?
Looking at the gear level brings tears in my eyes… it is essentially the same thing from 206! Such nostalgia!
dah kenape mahal sangat ni??
Price not too bad if its CKD. As always, it should be cheaper, below or very near to rm100k.
RM105k is quite cheap if its CBU.
But you will scream hailat when you try to sell as it can’t be traded in.
Who’s talking about trading in? If you know intermilan, that’s not his issue. Go preach your RV story elsewhere.
Quite expensive. The 208 is just as good, if not better, and costs way less than that. And if you top up 10k you get the more premium DS3.
Hopefully they are working on CKDing the C4 Cactus…
Wow this is still on sale???How OLD is this model now? 10? 15?
The old Citroen C3 that u mentioned is C3 MK1, which back to 2002. Malaysia stopped MK1 since 2009.
The Citroen C3 facelift that will be launched here soon is Mk2. C3 Mk2 prefacelift did not launch in Malaysia.
6 years hiatus of Citroen C3 in Malaysia, now it is back.
Basically a 208 in a fancy shell. I personally will wait for the facelift 208, the 4 speed auto is a bit, dimwitted.
This should be based on the older 207… it was launched quite a while ago.
Not worth getting it over the 208.
would love to have that windscreen , but it looks like a red potato
bald drivers wont like their position in the car….hihihi
looks like mini van…
c4 looks better
This design…..
ds3 is so stylish….but what in the world is this
just curious, why not use cvt instead of 4 speed AT?
