BMW Group Malaysia has launched the second-generation BMW X6 M. The big SAC (that’s Sports Activity Coupe) is powered by a 4.4 litre V8 M TwinPower Turbo engine said to be the most powerful engine developed for the firm’s all-wheel drive models.
With 575 hp and 750 Nm of torque – 20 hp and 10% more torque than before – the X6 M does the century sprint in 4.2 seconds. Despite this, fuel consumption and C02 emissions have been reduced to 11.1 litres per 100 km and 258 g/km respectively. The engine is mated to an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic and power is laid down via xDrive with Dynamic Performance Control.
This latter has electronically adjustable damping for Comfort, Sport and Sport + modes, while the M Servotronic steering system allows for various steering parameters to suit driver preferences. The 21-inch M alloy wheels now come with non-runflat tyres for better steering response and greater handling.
The front façade has large air intakes to cool the transmission, engine and beefier front brakes, while its flaps underneath reduce lift and improve the overall aerodynamics of the machine. “Air breathers” located behind the front wheels alleviate the turbulence from the wheels at certain speeds. While at the rear, the quad-exhaust setup makes it distinctively different from the others.
On the inside, the X6 M’s cockpit has the distinctive leather-wrapped M steering wheel with gearshift paddles, M gearshift lever and exclusive electric M multifunction seats too.
The M instrument cluster, comprehensive BMW ConnectedDrive and optional full-colour Head-Up Display with M-specific views for gears, rev range and shift light also make an appearance. The BMW M lap timer app is also available for selected smartphones and it can be accessed via the iDrive controller too.
The estimated retail price (on the road, without insurance) of the new BMW X6 M is RM1,238,800. It comes with the company’s latest five-year unlimited mileage warranty and free scheduled service programme.
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
as usual BMW malaysia taking killing us with their ridiculous profit margin
there’s only one kind of HachiRoku, nuff said..
this car, Minister’s children will use for free. Remember Nazri’s son Nedim? He was driving a brand new Porsche Cayenne fully paid and fully maintained for free by timber tycoon seeking contracts from daddy.
the same with the other Ministers and their sons.
I got RM2.6 Billion, now I can buy 2500 units of this car anytime. Now my RM2.6 sudah naik RM2.9 billion, so no problem buying this car.
By the way BMw, this car in the US is US$80k. How it can jump to RM1.2 million here?
That’s some pretty good quality surround cameras on this M model. The only other vehicle I drove that has this was the Evoque and that had crap low reso cameras.
X6M , makes a whole lot of sense in a world without any….
and you would choose this over a Porsche cayenne because…?
Dr M owns it
Because this X6M will pork the Cayenne’s ass everyday.
messy fascia
At this price i would choose the i8. Different category i know, but at least they know i spent 1.2 million on it lol
I8 is definitely a crowd puller. Looks futuristic as well. I wonder if you will have problems with the door in a parking mall?
I definitely would have a problem
angin je aku tengok harga tu.. cam sial mahal…
One thing though, this colour of red does not suit the X6 that nice in the M variant. The blue is good, or even the Donington Grey with Mugello Red leather is so so classy. Even the Silverstone Metallic is quite nice too.
This, I believe is the Melbourne Red – somehow that looked great on the F30 but this one can’t dress in that colour.
Nevertheless, attractive pricing indeed. When the X5 M comes (eventually), the Cayenne Turbo will really have it’s work cut out.
OK, wait a few months and the AP Importers will make a killing on this model. BMW Malaysia just launched this as their ‘Hero’ model since they don’t have a F1 model.
1.24m?!?!?! crazy…..
poor guy like me will never has a tiny tip of chance to own this
omg, that kind of price..wtheck is wrong with those people
Juat saw this car at sungai petani , kedah the number plate stick with PDRM polis logo…just wonder wat kind of level pangkat can own this 1.2m car..
Hey hey you have to get your facts right. The X6M 2016 does not cost $80,000 in the USA, get it right, the price is above $100,000 . Your comment does tick me off when you made such remarks without a wise due dilligence.
To anyone who reads this comment, should bear in mind this X6M 2016 is the most expensive SUV in Malaysia more likely about the same price with the Range Rover Autobiography 2016, x6m has to be the fastest SUV too.
