Launched in August, the new Proton Persona has now recorded 7,000 bookings so far, according to a Bernama report. First introduced in 2007, the latest Persona is in its second generation.
“We are very happy with the number of bookings achieved, and we are on the right track for a monthly sales target of 3,000 to 4,000 units, set by chief executive officer of Proton, Datuk Ahmad Fuaad Kenali,” said chairman of Proton, Datuk Seri Syed Faisal Albar at an appreciation ceremony for Malaysian athletes who bagged medals at the recent 2016 Olympics at Rio, Brazil.
So far, Proton has launched two models this year, the other being the Perdana. Another two models are set for launch this year; the Proton Saga is due at the end of this month, while the Proton Ertiga MPV is slated for an October date.
