Apollo Tyres now offers 1-year unconditional warranty in Malaysia on top of 5-year manufacturer warranty

Apollo Tyres has announced that it is now offering a one-year unconditional warranty (UCW) on its entire range of passenger car tyres to all customers in Malaysia. The offer is in addition to the company’s standard five-year manufacturer warranty, and covers incidents such as accidental tyre damage or impact breaks, for better peace of mind.

“The Apollo brand of tyres was introduced to the Malaysian customers about a year ago, and since then we have been working towards creating a space for ourselves in this market. The confidence in our product quality, durability and performance has led to coming up with this UCW offer for the Malaysian customers,” said Shubhro Ghosh, ASEAN region group head of Apollo Tyres.

“We believe that the UCW offer will help increase Malaysian consumers’ confidence in the Apollo brand, in addition to an increase in sales of the passenger car tyres,” he added. The company announced last year the setting-up of its office in Malaysia, staffed by a team of sales and service personnel to meet the needs of local customers.

Apollo-brand tyres are manufactured at the company’s state-of-the-art facilities in Baroda and Chennai, India. In Malaysia, Apollo Tyres offers its 4G range of passenger car tyres, which were designed and developed at the company’s research facility in the Netherlands.

Tyres are so expensive here in Malaysia. I was so shy when my British friend told me he spends 30 to 40 pounds for his tyre. Tht is like RM30 to RM40 for us.

the same tyre I buy here is RM250. He asked me this “Isn’t all the rubber coming from Malaysia? Why do you spend so much on tyres?”

      I was speechless.

are u sure malaysia tyre is expensive? are u comparing apple to apple?

The structure of tyre is not only “rubber” compound but also other meterial such as silica, carbo black, steel and polyester. And also rubber price is follow international rubber price, not local price. Price of rubber on Feb 17 compare to Feb 16 have been increase nearly 90%.

However over the years the tyre price in Malaysia is decreasing. Same tyre size and model compare to 2 years ago the price has been decrease at least 10-20%. If you dont believe pls check the price of 2015 and 2016 same model and same size.

In UK taxation is very high, earning of 3000 pound sterling the income tax is 40%, and the VAT (aka GST) is 20%. Do you still consider tyre in UK vs income is cheap? Dont simply become keyboard warrior without fact.

Appolo don’t have a R&D center in Malaysia yet, to work with the local chassis engineers. At the moment it is all imported, based on the article above.
No indications on the tyre sizes and prices. Probably for a start they will try to capture the lower end segment where longevity is more important than ride refinements.

  • Warranty claims fast or slow? Dont be like some companies offering 6 years warranty but claims like shit. Takes them months to look into a case. 9 months amd counting for my case, no reply yet.

Excellent Tyre’s well suited to hot & wet Asian roads. They developed Tyre’s to suit all kinds of vehicles, so match the tyre to the car. The ride is smoother, fuel efficiency enhanced, reduced road noise.

Call me a cynic but I foresee tyre shops exploiting ignorant Apollo customers by making them pay for a replacement damaged tyre, and then quiety putting a claim for a new tyre, to be sold for profit. Yes, I’ve been round the block :-).
