Aside from introducing its new Cupra sub-brand, Seat also took the time to add another member to the Leon ST estate family. Set to go on display at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, this is the new Leon Cupra R ST, which will look to take on the latest Volkswagen Golf R estate.
In many ways, the estate shares a lot in common with the limited-number Leon Cupra R hatchback that made its debut last year. Under the bonnet, there’s a 2.0 litre TSI engine that churns out 300 PS, with power going to all four wheels via a six-speed DSG transmission and 4Speed all-wheel drive system.
Official performance figures aren’t out yet, but you can expect a 0-100 km/h time close to the hatchback’s 5.7 seconds, along with a top speed of 249 km/h. The Spanish carmaker also stated the car will have an “emotive exhaust sound” and performance brakes, so upgrades in these areas will be very likely.
Design-wise, the performance estate is again, similar to the hatchback, with various parts of the car receiving a copper-coloured finish. There’s also a carbon-fibre front splitter and some 19-inch wheels, but the flared arches seen on the hatchback are absent here.

Seat was never in the Malaysian market. Only Skoda. Although both are top quality cars and hot sellers in Europe.
Not really. Skoda and seat were never hot sellers in Europe. But they do sell more units than Proton as car manufacturers. And they get to design their own body and interior on top of VW underpinnings.
