M6 in 2026 — what's new
The Malaysian BYD M6 carries into 2026 unchanged from the 2024 Mk2 facelift, with Standard Range and Extended Range seven-seat electric variants. A 2026 Indonesian reveal introduces the M6 DM, a separate plug-in hybrid rather than an update to Malaysia’s electric M6. It uses a 99 PS 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine and has different exterior treatment, including a large grille and SUV styling.

Which variant to buy
Most private buyers should take the RM109,800 Standard Range. Its 420 km figure, 161 hp motor and seven seats cover the essentials while keeping RM14,000 in hand. Pay RM123,800 for the Extended Range only if its 530 km range is useful in your routine or you want the 201 hp motor. The larger 71.8 kWh battery is the substantive upgrade. Both use a single-ratio automatic and have seven seats.
