Which variant to buy

The X at RM154,800 is the rational starting point, as every version lists the same 1,433 cc FWD petrol hybrid/REV powertrain, single-ratio automatic and seven seats. X Plus costs RM159,800; Highway Star RM169,800; Premium Highway Star RM174,800; Shiro Premium Highway Star RM179,800. That is a RM25,000 climb from X to Shiro. Pay more only after confirming the trim-specific equipment you want, because the core mechanical specification is unchanged.

Verdict

The Serena e-Power brings a seven-seat layout, ProPILOT ADAS and an electric-motor-driven hybrid system to the C-segment MPV class. All five versions retain the same basic drivetrain and seating count, so selection turns on trim detail rather than performance. It costs RM45,000 more to enter than the BYD M6. That makes it a costly route into this class; its case rests on the e-Power system and ProPILOT.
