2026 Nissan Serena e-Power in Malaysia – 1,300 bookings received, 250 units delivered since March

Launched in Malaysia in March this year, the Nissan Serena e-Power has received 1,300 bookings for the sixth-generation MPV and has seen the first 250 units delivered last month, Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) has stated.

The introductory rebate of RM5,000 and the early-bird accessories package worth RM8,000 (for all variants except the base X) continue to be offered, ETCM stated.

Five variants are offered from launch; the X at RM154,800, X Plus at RM159,800, Highway Star at RM169,800, Premium Highway Star at RM174,800, and the Shiro Premium Highway Star at RM179,800. Prices are on-the-road, without insurance.

Locally assembled in Serendah, Selangor, the C28 Serena is the first e-Power model to be assembled in Malaysia. The powertrain is the main update for the model in our market, featuring a HR14DDe 1.4 litre naturally-aspirated inline-three petrol engine that outputs 98 PS and 123 Nm, which operates solely as a generator for the 1.77 kWh lithium-ion battery.

This feeds a 163 PS/315 Nm electric motor for the front wheels, and drive modes offered include Eco, Standard and Sport, in addition to a B mode on the transmission selector for greater brake energy regeneration; e-Pedal mode enables one-pedal driving.

Improved body and component rigidity enables more suppressed body roll, and the brake booster has also been tuned to offer gentle deceleration in the initial phase of brake operation, all aimed at reducing motion sickness for the occupants of the MPV, ETCM noted previously.

  • Overpriced junk. Once you go China EV or even China Hybrids like the BYD GWM Geely, you never go back to garbage ICE vehicles let alone overpriced turds like these Japanese brands arrogantly assuming Malaysia is a good dumping ground for their unsold trash cans on wheels.

      • in china there are very few private household vans on the road they like suv more than van, these moving coffins are mostly used by companies and hotels to ferry customers or tourists from airport. so yes, the japs have little competition in this segment
