Verdict

At RM72,900, the Aruz is the practical answer for a Malaysian family that needs seven seats, although its 213-litre boot is tight. The RM76,100 Traz carries five people but opens up 471 litres, gains 105 hp and 138 Nm against 101 hp and 133 Nm, and brings ASA 3.0 pre-collision braking from 4-120 km/h plus steering correction. Its CVT and front-wheel drive are also a different proposition from the Aruz’s four-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive. The Traz also gets a 9.0-inch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Aruz

Pick the Perodua Aruz if you need seven seats, a 45-litre tank and rear air-con vents with a blower.

Traz

Pick the Perodua Traz if five seats are enough and you want a 471-litre boot, more power and active safety assistance.
