Aruz in 2026 — what's new
The 2019-generation Aruz continues into 2026 with two seven-seat petrol variants, the 1.5 X and 1.5 AV. A September 2026 revision cut prices by RM4,000 across the range, with an additional RM4,000 Malaysia Day rebate announced at the time. Earlier 2026 promotions included RM3,500 off in June and up to RM4,000 off in July. The mechanical package remains a 1,496 cc, 101 hp petrol engine, automatic gearbox and rear-wheel drive.
Which variant to buy
Most buyers should start with the 1.5 X at RM68,900. It has the same 1,496 cc 101 hp petrol engine, automatic transmission, rear-wheel drive and seven-seat layout as the 1.5 AV. The AV costs RM73,900, a RM5,000 step up. On paper, you are paying for trim rather than mechanicals, so check the equipment list closely before spending more. Choose the AV only if its additional kit matters to you; otherwise, the X keeps the same fundamental Aruz package for less.
Verdict
The Aruz is a direct answer for buyers who want a compact SUV with seven seats, rear-wheel drive and an automatic gearbox. Its entry price sits above the RM62,500 Ativa, but below the RM76,100 Traz; it is also RM1,099 less than the RM69,999 QV-E. There is no power advantage between Aruz variants, so the buying decision comes down to how much equipment the AV adds for its RM5,000 premium.
