Which variant to buy
Most buyers should start with the RM89,800 Executive. It has the same 1,499 cc 178 hp petrol engine, front-wheel drive, wet dual-clutch automatic and five-seat layout as the other two. The Premium costs RM101,800, a RM12,000 step up, while the Flagship is RM113,300, or RM23,500 more than Executive. On paper, you are not paying for extra power or a different drivetrain, so check the equipment list before spending more on trim.

Proton X50 buyer's guides & reviews
Verdict
The X50 is a substantially revised take on Proton’s B-segment SUV rather than a clean-sheet replacement. New head- and taillights, a larger lower grille and significant sheetmetal changes give it a much fresher appearance; the Flagship also gets a large rear spoiler. Its 178 hp petrol engine and wet dual-clutch transmission are shared across the range, leaving equipment and styling preference to decide the trim. More than 10,000 units have already found buyers.
