The Kia Soul is aimed squarely at this new segment which seems to be gaining alot of popularity now, I won’t say in terms of sales as I’m not quite sure myself, but the carmakers definitely seem to be interested in it. This segment is the new SUV of sorts, some kind of large C-segment hatchback that offers the practicality and driving position of an SUV but without most of the bad points. Kia’s new ad campaign for the Kia Soul involves hamsters. Lots of hamsters. You can see the glowing speakers that the Soul has in the video too. im happy that the korean car makers are finally in the main stream. but sad malaysian car makers are either lagging or rebadging. kia soul indeed its a cool car to roll in and their creative/ad department is getting better.
no one will buy myvi after this….KIA is definitely improve a lot.
The Soul is way bigger than the Myvi. It may look the same, but it is as big as a Lancer GT without a boot.
I heard NAZA will bring in the Soul, but in CBU form.
I suppose the closest thing to this on local shores is the SX4 hatchback? A large tall-ish hatchback. But I think this is even bigger than that. Its competitors overseas as the Nissan Rogue, etc.

Well, SX4 is pretty similar, if a bit bland looking. The Pug 308 comes to mind. Yeah, it is pretty much similar to 308 in size, but abit taller i suppose. Or maybe the Soul looks small as it is running 18" wheels as standard!

Hehehe fifth gear has reviewed this car. I've actually had a sit in it too. It is quite a funky design, but ultimately the interior and the rest of the car feels cheap. ONe of its main selling points is its highly customisable exterior (imagine the new fiat 500). Not too sure is M'sia will be alloying such customisation or just importing a single type. But hey if you are going for the pure bling factor and you don't give a shit about the rest of the car then get it!
It's launching in the 1Q of 2010.. I hope the price is attractive too~ I'll either get this or a Nautica…
the car basically comes in 3 model – the base model, the 2U model and the 4U (sport) model. 1.6 and 2.0 engine. I hope we get more options on the 1.6 model…

I really hope Naza Kia will launch it in the early 1Q but i'd doubt so.. since they have problems even coping with Forte's order. The below link said Kia Soul would be in the affordable range.. I hope it's around Forte price or better!
