Yesterday, we posted on the all new Chevrolet Colorado pick up truck, which made its world debut in Thailand. Looking very much like the Colorado Show Truck from the Bangkok Motor Show, Thai sales of the new Colorado will start on October 17.
Our northern neighbours get to choose from 26 combinations of Colorado models, powertrains, cabins, and ride heights. Two new Duramax diesel engines will be available, a 2.8L with VGT, 180 hp and 470 Nm, as well as a 2.5L with 150 hp/350 Nm.
The good news here is that the Colorado is coming to Malaysia in two months time, according to franchise holder Naza Quest Sdn Bhd. The company says that the CBU from Thailand Colorado will arrive in double cab form, in LT and top spec LTZ trim levels. Both 2.5L and 2.8L engines will be available, in both auto and manual transmissions. Vehicle deliveries are expected to start in mid December.
Welcome to Malaysia’s pick-up truck market, Chevy. Click here for the full deal on the Colorado.

ahhh…finally coming to our shore…chevy rocks!
Wonder wats d price n mechanical differences wit d similar up-coming D-Max.
Good on you Chevy. This will make other makes wake up. Ford better bring in their 3.2 Ranger. But will the new Isuzu ride on the same platform as Colorado? Competition always good for us consumers. Still want to get the Hailux?
that’s awesome move… i hope the price is right, exactly competitive with the triton and hilux… it has the looks and engine performance… chevy, u made a smart choice to come to malaysia, especially borneo… should be hotcakes if the price is right…
Seems like a very good respone from readers since the launched report was posted, but shall see when it’s finally in our shore. It will take them a very huge effort to give Hilux, D-Max, Triton & Navara a run for their money. But this is a very good competition…
It’s time to beat the hell out of Hilux, Triton and D-Max.
warm welcome to Chevy, sayonara to Hilux :D
i own the new navara SE. my question is:-
i) chevy 3s centres in malaysia reliable or not? my friends who bought the captiva and cruze said the workmanship and customer service were below par.
ii) spare parts for this car murah or not? the dash (as per paultan’s previous feature on this car reflected bells and whistles not available in current 4×4 pickup) has a lot of electronics. tak mahal ke if anything rosak? are they widely available?
Spare parts would eventually become cheaper if the particular model sells like hot cake here in Malaysia.
If it doesn’t sells well, then it going to be hard to find a spare part shop that is willing to stock up the replacement parts
i still won’t buy from AP King
