Boon Siew Honda launched the new Honda Wave 110 this morning in Petaling Jaya. A successor to the Wave 100, this basic kapcai is an all-new model and it was revealed at the launch that Malaysia is the first market to launch the bike. With the tagline Satu Untuk Semua (One for All), the Wave 110 is billed as a versatile people’s bike.
The new Wave 110 is powered by a four-stroke 110 cc engine with 7.67 PS at 7,500 rpm and 8.32 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm. Boon Siew Honda says that it’s the first 110 cc engine in Malaysia to comply with Euro 2 emission standards. The improved engine has a lighter piston (by 10%) with a surface coating that reduces friction, and a roller rocker arm that works to achieve the same.
The company also highlights the new bike’s fuel efficiency – it’s capable of 52.5 km/l in the ECE 40 test mode, compared to 49.4 km/l for the Wave 100. The bike should be better riding thanks to a more rigid and lighter frame, bigger tyres and a centre of gravity that’s pushed forward. In Honda’s own 0-200m test, the Wave 110 covered ground in 14.1 seconds, four tenths faster than the Wave 100.
New or improved features include redesigned head (multi reflector halogen) and tail lamps, front disc brake (DX variant only), a new exhaust pipe with thermal protector and ergonomically designed switches on the handle bar.
Not listed in the brochure, but shared at the launch, are subtle changes like the bigger fender (better wind and water protection), a more comfortable seat (better dispersion of pressure) and easier main stand operation. The latter is thanks to optimisation of the centre of gravity, grip position and the main stand itself.
Two variants of the Wave 110 are available – the basic S and the fancier DX. The DX adds on an electric starter, clear signal lenses, sportier graphics, front disc brake, five-spoke cast wheels, chrome muffler cover and black painted parts (engine case, fork, steps). Three body colours are available, with one unique hue for each variant – orange for DX and blue for S.
Priced at RM3,898 for the S and RM4,498 for the DX, the new Wave 110 comes with an improved warranty period of two years or 20,000 km.

wrong. even drum brake could make tyres loss grip to road if you push/pull hard enough. if that the case then ABS should be the answer. not disk brakes.

still using carburetor is it? change it to fuel injection, surely can save fuel even more. but for easy maintenance they said…thus stick to carburetor.

Dekat Thailand dah pakai Injection (PGM-FI), kat sini carburetor untuk new model..sigh. Last month ride Honda Clicks 125 PGM-Fi with Idling Stop function dekat Phuket, harga motor THB5300. Much better compared to carburetor and save fuel too.

And yet again Boon Siew Honda launches ‘a new under bone for the masses’. Don’t know why they feel a need to launch the same thing @ design over and over and over again.
Boon Siew could have launch the CBR150 but that’s not the case and it’s ‘bound not to be cheap’ too. The best bike Boon Siew never felt fit to launch (back then) was the fabulous NSR150SP that many wanted to buy. Honda could have fitted a catalytic converter to the exhaust. Sad……
Motor sekarang tak laju… EX5 or Cub dulu lagi power ranger… boleh pacak punya…

I bought the Honda future 125cc and top speed is 100km/h. (GPS is 95km/hr).
Get cheated with the cc output. Better get Yamaha LC liquid cooled with tubeless tyre or cheat bike like Demak 110cc at 2.8K.

So disappointed about this bike. The power output alone is even less powerful than the previous Wave 110 (7.67 PS @ 7,500 rpm vs 8.0 PS @ 7,500 rpm). The speedometer amplifies the “slow, powerless” perception of the bike. Mat rempits will definitely hate this bike. Besides, the design is also very ancient and outdated. The design looks like the early-gen Wave during the end of 1990s / early 2000s. Plus, the rear lights look like the ill-fated Modenas Kriss SG, also suffered from the outdated design.
The rear signal is the upcoming regulation follow like in Europe. Only they have to design nicely. :)
There’s nothing wrong with the rear turn signal stalks. Modenas also uses the similar turn signal stalks for all their export models to Greece including the Adnan Sempit’s GT128 (renamed as GT135) and the CT (uses the larger 120cc engine + fuel injection and renamed as Kriss 125i).
Another fail product from Boon Siew Honda.
1) The launched of CBR250 during 2011 is a failure due to high pricing. Brake pad costing RM 250.
2) The launched of scooter PCX 150 last year also the fail product due to wrong pricing. Thailand selling 7.5K and Malaysian pay RM 11K. What a joke for a 150cc scooter. you may as well get a liquid cooled LC nouvo 135cc at RM 6K or big reliable SYM VTS 172cc Maxis scooter at RM 9K with cheaper parts. This honda CVT belt is RM 220 as compared to SYM at RM 90.00.
3) This 110 cc bike at RM 4K without a tubeless tyre. You may as well get a SYM 110 at 3.2K (save RM 800-20%) or get a Demak at RM 2.8K with plenty of spare parts.
Honda is still in the dream and thought their product is superior than other and can price higher. They are unaware of their competitor where other have improve tremendoesly. Especially the reliable Demak and SYM /Kmyco kapchai.

Boon Siew still keep launching these ‘new’ models over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.
Come to think of it,had they introduced the fabulous NSR150SP which many including myself wanted to buy,back then in 1999 it would have cost a bomb (the NSR150RR cost RM10,518.00 in 1997 prices).
That’s right… look at the speedometer panel, it looks like the 1st-gen Wave a.k.a. EX5 Class 1…

Argghh.. I regreted buying this piece of crap.. The engine always stops/off during lot of the times when I wait for the traffic lights or just swinging my way through the cars to the traffic lights in slow speed such as 5-10km/h.. This has caused me to sometimes loss balance and almost hit other cars.. So embarassed!!!
So ugly New model prefer honda wave 125 ultimo ….your design not as good asYamaha and most of honda kapcai are 110c.c where as your honda future design suit for old man…look at thailand indonesia vietnam honda their cc mostly 125…and the design are better than in Malaysia …think about it are malaysia 3rd class country …..
